My GF also says she picks her characters based on how their body looks; like, she doesn't like the big muscular warrior build, so she doesn't play one (that, and they're boring).
She also complained that the male monks were all so buff that she didn't want to play one of them either. I think having several body types wouldn't be terrible; having a muscular Ele isn't outrageous if his secondary is warrior. Why are the monks so buff anyway?

Maybe they work out? You don't have to use a sword to be buff. The only annoying this is that ALL the monks have to be buff.

A better idea, I feel, are additional sub-categories for appearances during character creation. We currently have male and female, Tyrian and Canthan. Why not branch the last two with Default, Ascalonian, or Krytan; and Default, Luxon, or Kurzick? You know, something along those lines. It irked me that I could create nothing relatively close in appearance to these options.

It would be pretty funny to see a bulky necromancer.

This is the reasonw hy I have a female warrior over a male warrior!
I just didnt like looking like a sterytipical American football quarterback who loves his steroids way too much, but if I could of chose a body type like the paragons body type I would of went that route.

Though I can't see ANet adding something like this until they finish the final chapter.

Some people do like big bottoms and they cannot lie.
The only poblem with such things is memory requirements, the more and more different armors and models, more and more memory will be required.

one thing to consider
Anet doesn't take monthly payments.
They don't have near the upkeep money that the 15$ a month games have, and will inherently have less features and even bandwidth.
I would assume they did think of it before Prophecies was even released, and decided to go without. GW is the most lagless game I've played, and that by far, and I believe it's due to "sacrifices" made by the development team, and hence the players.
That explained, I'll /sign.

I think it be great to add a feature to change the body width (fat, thin) at the character design stage, but I also think it be cool to implement a cause and effect of eating and drinking too much. Such as having your character gain weight after 10 beers or 10 sweetcakes.
The same thing could be done about not eating enough, could cause your character to be thinner than the initial character design and the effect would be lower health max and weaker in battles.
I'm not penalizing thin players, I'm merely suggesting that in the initial character design you create your very own "set weight". so it would be possible to gain and lose weight depending on your activities and diet. There would be both negatives and positives for gaining and losing weight.

My original character was a warrior, until I actually had an NPC comment on how fat he was. I deleted him and remade him as a warrior I'm much less satisfied with. True story.

This should be created the same day Anet uses their brain to make the NPC Stylist and quicker, cause GW is already boring.

If they were to do this it'd probably not happen until GWEN. But I'd be all for it, especially since I know some people who'd looove to have a big burly monk and a teeny tiny warrior :P /signed
